Flow M joins Vodafone Portugal’s IoT portfolio

When discussing industry, technology and Industry 4.0 must also be part of the conversation. Increasingly, companies from different sectors are joining forces to develop new solutions that address the technological challenges of the future. This is precisely what happened with Vodafone Portugal: the telecommunications giant chose Flow Manufacturing to expand its portfolio of IoT solutions for businesses. As a result, Flow Manufacturing is now offered under the name “Vodafone Factory Management”.

The importance of IoT technology in industrial environments

With the development of technologies capable of driving disruptive changes in production and business models, it is essential for all company systems to be interconnected to support continuous process improvement. Although digital transformation creates a more competitive environment, it also opens up new opportunities for companies that are well prepared.

One of the key systems for ensuring the efficient operation of any production facility is industrial management software. Flow Manufacturing is an industrial production and quality management system that enables companies to control every stage of the manufacturing process (Design, Planning and Execution). As an MES (Manufacturing Execution System), it provides traceability, helps reduce waste of raw materials and resources, and consequently increases productivity.

With this technology, data collection and integration are automated and efficient, connecting information from the shop floor to the warehouse. It enables real-time monitoring and control of production costs across a wide range of products.

Flow Manufacturing can be adapted to a variety of industrial environments and is currently used across several sectors, including chemicals (Mistolin), food processing (Pascoal, Lugrade, Queijos Santiago, Tété, A Poveira, etc.), textiles (ETEXBA), metalworking (Lacovale) and jewellery manufacturing (Flamingo), among others.
